SPRAVATO® is a prescription nasal spray that offers a new approach to treating certain types of depression. It is specifically designed for adults who have not found relief from at least two different antidepressant treatments. SPRAVATO® contains esketamine, which targets the NMDA receptor in the brain. This action helps to restore connections between brain cells and improve mood. Treatment with SPRAVATO® is administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional in a certified medical facility. SPRAVATO® is intended for adults with treatment-resistant depression, meaning they’ve tried at least two different antidepressant treatments without adequate relief. It’s also approved for adults with major depressive disorder experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
